Borealis - QR Credential Enrollment
1.0 Introduction
Borealis has the option of generating and enrolling a QR code credential which is then emailed to the cardholder and will be immediately available to use.
Note: The QR credential format must match the format configured on the QR code reader.
The following steps explain how to add a 56-bit format which is the format required by the Aurora QR code readers:
- From the main menu, click on Credential Formats.
- Click the Add button located on the right side of the screen.
- Select the Aurora_QR_56-bit_Format.
- Leave the credential settings at the default values, then click Save.

- The required format is now available for the QR credential enrollment.
3.0 Creating and Enrolling a QR Credential
- From the main menu, click on Cardholders.
- Click the Create button located on the right.
- Add a first name and last name.
- Select Never Expire and the cardholder will not use an activation or expiration date.
- Or select an activation time and date, and an expiration time and date to make the cardholder temporary.

- Click the Save and Next button.
- From the Credential Type menu, select QR Credential.
- Select the 56-bit format which you added in the previous section.
- Enter the email address of the new cardholder.
- Select a card status for the QR credential.

- Click Save & Next.
- Assign an access right to the cardholder or leave at None if you wish to create and assign access rights later.
- The cardholder record will be created and the new QR credential will be located at the top of the Credentials screen.

- The unique QR credential code will also be emailed to the cardholder.

- If the cardholder is assigned valid access rights they will immediately be able to use their QR credential via their mobile device.
