Deactivate a Credential or Multiple Credentials
1.0 Introduction
The following steps explain how to de-activate a cardholder's credential. Once the credential status is inactive it will automatically be removed from the controllers and will no longer be able to gain access at any of the readers.
2.0 Edit the Credential
A credential can be made inactive by editing the credential:
- From the main menu click on Credentials.

- A list of credentials will appear.
- If the credential you wish to edit does not appear in the list you can click on one of the filter icons - for example, you can search for the specific card by entering the imprint (this is the number that is printed on the credential).

- When the specific credential is displayed, click on the Actions menu located on the right side of the screen.
- Select Edit.

- The credential edit form will appear.
- Select the status as Inactive - note: other inactive statuses also include: Lost, Stolen and Not Active.

- Click the Save button to save the credential record.
- The credential will now be automatically removed from any controller which it was added to (as long as the controllers are online).
3.0 Deactivate Multiple Credentials
Borealis also gives you the option of changing the status of multiple credentials:

Note: If your system uses PXL controllers and you are changing the status of several credentials, it will take a few minutes for the credentials to be updated on all the PXL controllers.
- Click on Credentials to display the Credentials screen.
- Select each of the credentials that you wish to change the status.

- Click the EDIT CARD STATUS button located on the right side of the screen.
- The list of all the selected credentials will be displayed.
- Use the status drop-down list and select Inactive as the status - note: other inactive statuses also include: Lost, Stolen and Not Active.

- Click the SAVE button to save the credential records.
- The updated status will now be displayed on the Credentials screen.
