Add a KB Site

Add a KB Site

1.0 Introduction

The following section explains how to add a KB site to Borealis. Once the KB site has been added you will then be able to add a claim a hub. When the hub is associated with a KB site it will automatically be configured to work with KB controllers. The following steps assume that you have already registered your Borealis user account, verified the account and have worked through the process of creating an organization and a new system.

Once a site has been added you will then be able to add a hub (or multiple hubs) to the site. Each hub supports up to 32 doors.

A site may represent a business location, a floor of a building or any other grouping of hardware. The requirements for a site are as follows:

Each site will need a minimum of one physical hub.

  • All controllers on a site must be of the same hardware family, such as: Keri KB, Keri PXL or Keri NXT-MSC (mercury-powered).
  • You will need to use multiple hubs if you wish to use different hardware/controller types, for example: Keri KB AND NXT-Mercury-Powered (MSC) controllers.

Note: Keri KB and Standard NXT controllers use the same hub. Standard NXT controllers can also be replaced with KB controllers.

  • A site must have a world timezone assigned (all controllers on the site will use this world timezone).
