Doors32 or Doors.NET to Borealis Conversions

Doors32 or Doors.NET to Borealis Conversions

1.0 Introduction

Keri Systems White Glove Conversion procedure will handle the importing of the access control system data - this includes all cardholder and credential information, controller and reader settings, plus time schedules and holidays.  It will also import access rights and the assignment of the access rights to credentials.

The White Glove Conversion procedure will easily and seamlessly import the access control data from your Doors32 or Doors.NET system. The conversion team will assist you in getting your new Borealis system up-and-running.

Keri Systems will pre-configure your Borealis conversion – this will include pre-checks and configuring and setup your site and hub. Keri Systems will also configure operators and claim communication hubs on your behalf. Keri will complete the conversion and move your existing data to your new Borealis cloud system.

Important Notes:

- Importing access group/access rights information is not supported if any cardholders in the Doors.NET system has more than one access group assigned.
- The Doors.NET to Borealis conversion supports NXT, NXT-MSC, PXL-500 and Mercury EP and LP controller types plus Mercury downstream door and I/O modules (SDMs, DDMs, ICMs and OCMs). Entraguard controllers and Mercury MP modules will be included in a future release.
- If you are importing Keri NXT controllers, all controllers must be programmed with an IP address and if the controllers were manually added to Doors.NET they must also have the correct MAC address.
- Once the conversion is completed, NXT-MSC controllers will require a memory reset. Standard Keri NXT controllers will also require a Basic reset. Controller resets are performed from the controller screen in Borealis.
- Following the successful conversion, the controllers will not be fully functional until your Borealis cloud subscription payment has been processed.
- If your system uses Dual Verification/Card + PIN, PINS will not be included if there are duplicate PINs in Doors.NET. The conversion tool will only import unique PINs.

2.0 Conversion Procedure Summary

  1. Register and verify your new Borealis operator account.
  2. Setup an Organization and wait for the Organization to be approved. An Organization only needs to be created once. All new systems can then be assigned to the Organization.
  3. Upload the Doors32 or Doors.NET database as a single zip file via the www.kerisys.com website. The upload location can be found here:
    https://eu.kerisys.com/doors-net-to-borealis-database-upload/
  4. When uploading the database you will need to enter Borealis-specific information, such as: Integrator Email, the name of the new Borealis system.
  5. You should also enter the Keri Systems purchase order number as this is important for tracking database conversions.
  6. Typically, the next step would be to purchase a Borealis hub and connecting the hub to an internet enabled-DHCP network.
  7. A new site will then be created by Keri's conversion team and the hub will be claimed to the site.
  8. The data will then be imported to Borealis using the data in the backup file.
  9. Keri Systems will then call you to arrange a cut-off time and date. The Doors32 or Doors.NET system will then be deactivated and system administration will then switch-over to Borealis.

Note: Once a new Borealis system has been setup it will be within a 30-day Setup period. If items in the cart are not paid for within the 30 days then the system will be temporarily suspended.

  10. The Borealis System Owner can then pay for the readers which are automatically added to the shopping cart. The quickest and easiest method is to process the payment using a credit card.
  11. Once the subscription is paid the system status will be fully active.

4.0 Pre-Configuration Requirements

  1. Register a new Borealis account.
  2. Create a new system
  3. Create a new site.
  4. Add a hub to the site  - When you add a new hub, ensure the site has the correct controller type that is currently being used in the existing Doors.NET system (Keri NXT, NXT-MSC and Mercury or PXL controllers).
  5. Doors.NET Software  - Should be updated to the most current version and all controllers should be updated to the latest firmware version (included with Doors.NET).

5.0 Using Multiple Hubs

The conversion tool supports the use of multiple hubs. Multiple hubs are used in the following circumstances:
  1. If controllers are located in different geographical time zones.
  2. If controllers are on different subnets.
  3. If you are using a mixture of different controller types.
  4. If you have more than 32 doors on your site.
