Add an NXT-MSC and True Mercury Hub

Add an NXT-MSC and True Mercury Hub

1.0 Introduction

The following steps explain how to add and claim a NXT-MSC hub. When adding the hub you will associate it with the NXT-MSC site. Once the hub has been successfully claimed the hub will be configured for the NXT-MSC and True Mercury hardware types.

Notes:

  • At least one hub is required per system.
  • A hub configured for NXT-MSC will ONLY support the NXT-MSC and True Mercury controller types.
  • A hub will support up to 32 doors.
  • If your system consists of more than 32 NXT doors then multiple hubs will be required. Multiple hubs (of the same controller type can be added to the same site).
  • The hub must be added to a DHCP network with an active, unrestricted internet connection.

The following steps assume that you have followed the instructions for setting up the hub (powering-up the hub and adding it to a DHCP network).

A hub provides the communication link between the Borealis Cloud services and the field hardware.

3.0 Wait for the Hub to Update

Note: It is important to wait up to 5 minutes for the hub to perform its initial update. Failure to wait may result in problems adding controllers to the system.

The hub will begin updating a few seconds after it comes online. While the hub is updating the status will display 'UpdateStarted'.

Hub Update Started

The status will continue to display 'UpdateStarted' for 3-5 minutes. Wait until the status displays 'UpdateCompleted'.

Hub Update Completed

Click on the name of the hub - this will display the hub information screen. Ensure there is information showing in the 'Updated On' section:
