The Borealis Connect app has a QR Enroll function that allows you to quickly and easily enroll a new KB 2D/4D controller using the QR code that's printed on the controller. Again, this section assumes you have an existing Borealis System (with an online hub added to a KB site), and you are adding a new KB controller to that System.
Using the Connect app is a fail-safe method of manually adding controllers, as there is no possibility of inputting the MAC address incorrectly, and controllers can be added directly from the location that the controller is physically installed. KB Controllers can also be manually added even if they are not powered-up.
Note: Optionally, you can manually add KB controllers using the web user interface
2.0 Install the Borealis Connect App
Download and install the Borealis Connect app for your Android or iOS device. Search for 'Borealis Connect'.
Tap the INSTALL button.
The Connect app will install within a few seconds.
A Borealis Connect icon will appear on your home screen.
3.0 Add a KB Controller Using QR Enroll
Tap the Borealis Connect icon.
Log in with your registered e-mail address and password.
Once logged-in you will see the home screen.
Select your Borealis System (which the KB hub is added to).
Select the QR Enroll option.
Confirm that you will allow the app to access the camera on your device.
Go to the KB controller and scan the QR code located in the lower-right corner.
Once scanned, the KB controller will be immediately added to the app.
The exact controller model and MAC address will be detected and displayed.
Enter the IP address that you wish to assign to the controller.
Note: You may wish to involve the IT department (if applicable), to obtain an available static IP address to assign to the controller.
Select the hub that you wish to add the controller to.
Click the ADD button.
The controller will now be added to the system and the specified IP address will be applied to the controller properties.
Once KB controllers have been added via the app, a scan will still need to be performed via the KB hub (using the web client). This will assign the IP address to the controller to finalize the enrollment. After you have performed the scan the KB controller will show as online.
