Add a Controller to Borealis

Add a Controller to Borealis

Add a New Controller (NXT, KB or NXT-MSC)

The process of adding a controller to Borealis is the same regardless of the controller type being
installed (the steps apply to both NXT and NXT-MSC controllers). The only difference is that
Standard NXT and Keri KB controllers must be manually assigned an IP address.

Note: The controllers must be added to the same DHCP-enabled and internet-enabled
network that the hub is connected to. The NXT-MSC controllers will obtain a DHCP address,
but the Standard NXT and KB controllers will be configured with a static IP address (prior to
claiming the controllers).

  1. From the dashboard, click on Hubs.
  2. Your hub will appear in the list.
  3. Locate the Actions drop-down menu on the right, click the down-arrow and select Scan.

  4. The scan function will scan the local network for controllers.
  5. After a few seconds, controllers will appear in the list.
  6. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are adding NXT-MSC controllers they will be assigned with
a DHCP IP address. If you are adding Standard NXT or Keri KB controllers you will need to manually
enter the IP address you wish to assign the controller(s).

  7. Place a check mark against the controllers that you wish to claim.
  8. Enter a name for each of the controllers that you wish to add.

  9. Click the CLAIM button.

  10. At the top of the screen you should see a message stating that the controller(s) has been
    successfully claimed.
